The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (the “FHH”), organiser of Watches & Wonders Geneva (the “WWG”) in Geneva, is a Swiss Foundation and has its registered offices at 4, Rue André-de-Garrini, CP 83, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland. The FHH was established in 2005 and through its activities promotes Fine Watchmaking’s values of creativity, culture and tradition.

In this Privacy Policy, we use the term “FHH” (and “we“, “us” and “our“) to refer to the head office of the FHH at the registered address above, the watch companies who are both members of the FHH and exhibitors at the WWG 2020 as well as affiliate companies.

Please take a moment to read the following Privacy Policy which explains how we collect, use, disclose and transfer the personal information that you provide to us on our websites and mobile applications (individually a “Platform” or together the “Platforms”), when you register to visit WWG or when you interact with us over social media platforms. It also explains how we collect information through the use of cookies and related technologies when you use our Platforms.

From time to time we may update this Privacy Policy. When we do we will publish the changes on this Internet website.

Information you provide to us and how we use it

Prior registration is mandatory to access certain areas of our Platform, to accept your e-mail invitation for WWG 2020 and when you arrive at WWG. During the registration process you will be asked to submit personal information about yourself (including your gender, civility, first name, surname, geographical provenance, e-mail address and photograph). By entering your details in the fields requested and by submitting a photograph of yourself or allowing us to photograph you, you enable us to provide you with general information about WWG, information about your accommodation, to prepare your badge and to access WWG and various events held by the different exhibitors etc. (see below).

Furthermore, you are advised that WWG will be covered by various media (press, radio and television notably) from Switzerland and other countries; as a consequence, you expressly agree that any photographs or video taken of you during your visit to WWG may be used by the press and/or the FHH in different media both on and off line.

In addition, we may also collect personal information from you when you correspond with us (for example, if you contact us with a query), when you provide your details when you visit any of the exhibitors’ booths or when you contact us by telephone or any means of communication. Please note that telephone calls may be recorded for security, training and development purposes.

If you choose to interact with the FHH via a social media platform or other third party service, we will collect the information you have provided to us through that platform.

We also collect certain information automatically about visitors to our Platform, described in the section headed “Cookies and other information that we automatically collect“, below.

We will use the information we collect from you to :

  • provide you with a badge;
  • provide you with access to WWG;
  • deal with your enquiries and requests;
  • send service related communications, including announcements and administrative messages;
  • send you marketing communications (including e-mails) relating to us and other third party partners (including Exhibitors) in accordance with your communications preferences (please see the ”Editing or deleting your personal information” section below for further information about how you can control these updates);
  • conduct market research so that we can continuously improve the services we provide to our customers;
  • prevent fraud and other prohibited or illegal activities and as part of our efforts to keep our Platform secure; and
  • understand how our Platform is used so that we can continuously improve our Platform and services and other offerings.

Cookies and other information that we automatically collect

Like most Platforms, the FHH logs IP addresses and uses cookies and similar technologies that allow us to recognise you and to customise your experience, and provide us with information about the way our Platform visitors access our Platform. What is a cookie

IP adresses

In the context of your registration and presence at WWG, we may share your information with WWG exhibitors, hotels, transport services, restaurants and any other third parties that provide services related to the organization of WWG.

Consequently, you will ensure that the information you provide to us is at all times accurate and up to date.

Other than as set out above, we do not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except under the following circumstances:

  • we may disclose your personal information to third party providers who provide services on our behalf such as online and other payments, processing credit card transactions and handling credit checks and fraud prevention;
  • we may disclose your personal information to any law enforcement agency, court, regulator, government authority or other third party where we believe this is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, or otherwise to protect our rights or the rights of any third party; and
  • we may disclose your personal information to any third party that purchases, or to which we transfer, all or substantially all of our assets and business. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to try to ensure that the entity to which we transfer your personal information uses it in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.

You have the right to ask for access to any personal information that we hold about you in our records, to correct any inaccuracies and to update any out-of-date information. You can also ask us not to send you direct marketing communications (however please note that we may continue to send you service related (i.e. non-marketing) communications, such as e-mail updates on your order status).
